HOBOKEN, NJ — Victor M. Lopez Jr., in collaboration with his team and the cultural platforms What Hoboken Sounds Like and the newly expanded What Jersey City Sounds Like, proudly announces the return of the 3rd Annual Summer Blockfest: Hip-Hop Festival & Community Celebration, set for Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 770 Jackson Street, Hoboken, NJ.
Now entering its third year, Summer Blockfest has grown into one of Hudson County’s most anticipated grassroots events — a powerful day-long celebration of Hip-Hop culture, community pride, and creative expression. What began as a local initiative has blossomed into a regional cultural movement, uniting Hoboken and Jersey City through the sound, style, and spirit of Hip-Hop.
Following two widely celebrated editions — which transformed Hoboken’s Southwest neighborhood into a hub of live music, youth empowerment, and community connection — Summer Blockfest has earned coverage from The Jersey Journal, TapInto Hoboken, Hoboken Girl (nominated “Best Community Event” in 2023), Hip Hop Since 1978, and The Pulse With Peter B.
In recognition of the impact, Victor M. Lopez Jr. was awarded an official City of Hoboken Proclamation in October 2024, honoring the creation of What Hoboken Sounds Like and the founding of Summer Blockfest — the city’s first-ever Hip-Hop festival.
2025 HIGHLIGHTS
This year’s Blockfest promises its largest and most exciting edition yet, featuring:

Live Performances from 25+ rising artists including CHASELAND, KI BOHITI, ROSE IMAGE, JONBOIIERA, MAX YB, GUNNER MONTANA, HARLEM CAM, and many more.

Mainstage DJs: DJ BRIPEE, MISTER ANGEL, DJ DUGSPIN, plus a special guest set from DJ TAKE 5 and his son DJ SHUFFLE in a father-son debut performance.

Special Guests: BROTHA P (former WBO middleweight champion turned Christian rap artist) and DJ MACHOTIME.

The Pamela Bates Foundation Awards Segment — making its first-ever debut, honoring individuals making a true impact in their communities.
